The night vision industry can be an extremely complex and difficult market to make sense of. Technical aspects in theory, design, hardware, and accessories can further confuse the first-time buyer. Unless the end-user has a significant amount of financing available, the approach of trial-and-error to night vision can be extremely cost prohibitive. Thus, to help demystify the topic, this series is broken down into the following five-parts:
- Part 1: The Start of Night Vision – A brief explanation on the start and evolution of night vision
- Part 2: The Basics – Terminology and concepts needed to understand night vision
- Part 3: The Players – Who’s who in the night vision zoo
- Part 4: Understanding the Numbers Game – There’s a lot of numbers involved in finding a “good” device
- Part 5: Loose Ends – Accessories for the crown

Ultimately, the purpose of this series is to help inform and guide beginners to the night vision world. By clarifying a lot of the principles and terminology, it will hopefully be easier for you to navigate your way before investing substantial capital in a long-term investment. A special thanks goes out to Killer Defense for serving as the sounding board to this series.
