Released in 2016, the line of Air cases is one of the latest in a series of hard cases by Pelican that is up to 40% lighter than the original hard case. The 1626 is specifically designed for mid-sized or smaller tactical rifles, but can accommodate a variety of other items to fit within it.  Scoring a total of 21 points out of 25 possible, the 1626 did well for its excellent light weight and good overall showing in all over categories.
