In February of 2022, T3 Gear released its new line of laminate nylon products to include a new laser cut T3 Admin Pouch. This pouch brings together some of the market’s newest, lightweight nylon materials, with the precision of machine-laser cut designs.
Made from the same laser cut (LC) laminate nylon as the new T3 Geronimo LC Plate Carrier, the 6” (L) x 5” (H) x 0.5” (D) Admin Pouch is designed connect to a plate carrier and to hold mission-essential documents or flat items within close reach. The envelop-style pouch also provides a secure and weight efficient pouch, with minimal cross section when empty. It also uses TEX 70 bonded nylon thread throughout to ensure all stress points maintain their durability. On the front exterior, the Admin Pouch has an 6” (L) x 3 ¾” (H) hook-and-loop panel that is MOLLE laser cut for attaching either other accessories or morale/identification panels.
The back of the Admin Pouch uses laser-cut squadron back mounts that occupy four rows of MOLLE webbing.
The interior of the Admin Pouch is accessed via a 4 ¾” zipper along the top that grants access.
The Admin Pouch is available in Multicam (featured), Coyote, and Ranger Green.

- Cost – Excellent (5/5): With its MSRP of $31.99, the Admin Pouch brings together T3’s new laminate nylon materials with TEX 70 threading to provide robust strength and minimal weight. The pouch itself grants the end-user a convenient place to store small or flat items close to the plate carrier or elsewhere within easy reach. In comparison, other market alternatives to the Admin Pouch would be the Admin Pouch ($60.95) from Blue Force Gear, the Admin Pouch Enhanced Thin-Laminate ($43.50) from Grey Ghost Gear, and the Slim Admin Pouch ($46.99) from Wilde Custom Gear. These alternatives, all using similar materials and design, illustrate that the T3 Gear Admin Pouch is has an excellent price point amid the market and competition.
- Comfort – Average (3/5): From a comfort aspect, the focus of the Admin Pouch was something that was appropriately (or of average) light in weight for the material so as not to be unbalancing, while still providing a place for smaller items or flat-based accessories (such as data/casualty cards) to be readily stored. With its flush profile, the Admin Pouch did not obstruct range of motion, nor get in the way of weapon manipulations or stressor drills. The zipper, while not outwardly a YKK-branded one, still functioned smoothly and did not bend nor cross-feed. The zipper enclosure line itself did not fully extend to both sides of the opening and resulted in some small debris (sand, dust) getting inside the Admin Pouch and could be a possible point of recommended improvement for T3.
- Durability – Good (4/5): The durability of laminate nylon as one of the latest fabrics puts it with an abrasion rating often at/above 1000D, and greater than many other more traditional nylons. As such, while the Admin Pouch handled the friction of rifle slings and dynamic movements well, continual mounting/removal of the Admin Pouch to the plate carrier did result in some frayed threading along the sides of the MOLLE-mounting straps on the rear of the pouch. Throughout the pouch, extensive bartack and double-line stitching was noted along the zipper line and key stress points to add reinforcement to the overall pouch. The corners of the pouch’s design were rounded and prevented gouging or abrasion against any exposed skin.
- Functionality – Good (4/5): Functionally, the Admin Pouch did a good job of serving a straightforward role as a flat-zippered pouch—it had a low profile and retained items well. There was no internal divider to organize contents so it was basically just everything-in pouch. The 4 ¾” zipper across the top that secures the contents did a good job of securing things, but still was slightly restrictive for those with larger hands to reach fully into as the width of the knuckles often was at the limit of the zippered opening. One suggestion for consideration by T3 would be to either extend the overall size of the Admin Pouch, or take the zipper to the extent of the top, or even perhaps down around both sides to give the pouch added access. As such, the Admin Pouch was good for storing a wallet, cards, batteries, or other smaller items as needed. It should be noted here that the attachment system was similar to other T3 products whereby the MOLLE compatible material was secured by tucking the band back under the final loop and this gave the overall pouch a very sturdy attachment to the plate carrier.
- Weight – Excellent (5/5): Weighing in at a demure 1.4 ounces, the Admin Pouch owes most of its light weight to the use of the new laminate nylon material that is substantially thinner than traditional nylons. This made the Admin Pouch neither bulky nor unbalancing while mounted on a plate carrier. In comparison, the Admin Pouch (7.6 ounces) from Blue Force Gear, the Admin Pouch Enhanced Thin-Laminate (4 ounces) from Grey Ghost Gear, and the Slim Admin Pouch (3 ounces) from Wilde Custom Gear all illustrate that the T3 Admin Pouch, being the newest design using entirely laminate nylon, was the lightest and excellent amid its competitors.
