Released in mid-2022, the 2-Point Adjustable Sling, (Gen 2) by T3 Gear advances the previous design and incorporates feedback from in the field use. The 2-Point Adjustable Sling (2AS) allows for rapid adjustment to customize its overall length and weapon retention—or emergency separation if needed.
Made from a 1” wide, A-A-55301 milspec webbing at the front, and a thicker, tubular style nylon in the rear, the 1” wide 2AS is open-ended on both sides and has “triglides” that allow the sling to be attached to M4/A2-style swivel sling loops, or on QD loop hardware. The 2AS uses TEX 90 bonded nylon thread throughout for its maximum durability against moisture rot and tensile strength.
At the front is a patented “Quick Adjustment” buckle with a 3” pull tab for sliding adjustment as needed.
The midpoint of the 2AS also includes a 1” polymer slide release buckle for emergency release of the sling should the need ever arise.

- Cost – Excellent (5/5): Listed at $19.95, the 2-Point Adjustable Sling (2AS) reflected the balance between the overall volume of nylon material in the sling, and its included minimalist slide-release hardware. The 2AS’s design is comparable to other mainstream minimalist slings currently offered by market alternatives to include the Simple Sling ($42) by Snake Eater Tactical, the Operators 2-Point Sling ($39.30) from First Spear, and the MS2 Sling ($39.95) from Magpul. Thus, at its current price the 2AS is perhaps one of the most affordable 2-point slings on the market while the exclusion of extras (sling or QD mounts) still keeps the cost modestly priced.
- Comfort – Good (4/5): With a single-layer and unpadded nylon strip, the 2AS front-end adjuster moved easily and manipulated between the carry/slung position to a combat ready position quickly. Likewise, the adjuster buckle itself slid easily over the Cordura webbing and did not bind. The sling itself was very comfortable and the wider tubular webbing material in the back half of the sling did not cut or chafe into exposed skin despite a lack of padding. Perhaps one suggestion for T3 would be to make the pull tab material an offset color to improve visual ease in finding the adjustor buckle on the fly.
- Durability – Excellent (5/5): Given the 2AS was made from dominantly 55301 milspec nylon webbing and quality polymer hardware, the sling held up to continual adjustment and did not fray. The hardware did not involve overly complicated or spring-loaded points, which often pose the potential for failure, and thus the 2AS effectively embraced tactical minimalism.
- Functionality – Good (4/5): From a functional aspect, it’s hard to get overly complicated on a sling. The 2AS embraced that simplicity, all while offering a functional and quickly adjustable design that made it easy to go from a slung position to deployment in a mere second. Attaching the 2AS to either A2-style sling points, or on QD style hardware was easy, and multiple M4 or other carbine-style stocks have considered cuts or points for mounting similar slings in various configurations for maximum comfort. The sling’s rapid slide-release buckle was more ideal for emergency doffing of the sling, or to remove the rifle while encumbered in a lot of gear. End-users should take note that the 2AS does come with looped nylon cordage in the front slide-adjustment buckle to prevent the sling from slippage while in shipping, but can be easily removed when attached to the rifle or QD mount.
- Weight – Average (3/5): At 2.9 ounces (without attachment hardware), the 2AS had an appropriate (or average) weight for the minimal amount of nylon material and hardware involved. Even while wet or soaked in sweat the sling’s material did not become excessively logged down. In comparison, the Simple Sling (1.86 ounces) by Snake Eater Tactical, the Operators 2-Point Sling (3.9 ounces) from First Spear, and the MS2 Sling (6.0 ounces) from Magpul demonstrate that the 2AS is appropriate amid the market and its listed competitors.
