Highlighted by 2AlphaTrainingGroup, this handgun drill is intended to focus on pistol fundamentals, and stress footwork with rapid target acquisition. The drill incorporates two barricade obstructions and engaging a plate rack at 15 yards from side-to-side. The plate rack can be substituted for a USPSA target and A-Zone hits.
Setup:
- 1 x 6-Plate Shooting Rack
- Alternatively, 1 x USPSA silhouette target
- Firing Line: 15 yard line – (2×4 water barrel obstruction or similar barricade)
- Ammo: One magazine fully loaded
Course of Fire:
- On command (or on buzzer) shooter immediately moves to side of choice, and engages one plate from behind the obstruction
- Shooter then transitions (side-step) to opposite side, and engages one plate from behind the obstruction
- Shooter repeats transitioning to opposite sides until all plates are down
Time for Record:
- Level 1: 10.45 seconds
- Level 2: 12.30 seconds
- Level 3: 14.15+ seconds
Penalties:
If using a USPSA (or similar) target +1 second for each shot outside of A Zone
